Digital Explorations
It is my pleasure to share these works with the world. My current digital artworks are arresting, bold and colorful adventures into the future of art. Fractals had long fascinated me. Finally software evolved to a point where I could draw out abstract images that evoke the fractal quality of nature. I use many layers and multiple graphics programs to accent and alter a fractal base. It is an adventure in the infinite every time. The creation of dazzling bits of beauty as I explore is very satisfying. Bits and pieces of my stock of reference photos sometimes find their way into the mix.
The body of recent work here is a series of abstract exercises in color and gesture invoking spiritual essences and feelings. Some are somber, some lyrical, some playful.
Digital processes allow me to be prolific and to express vastly more colorful
abstractions. My fascination with fractals is how closely they relate to the processes of nature.
The art presented here consists of archival prints from digital files in small editions.
The works chosen for this market have a common quality of strong impact.
Several can be special ordered in even larger sizes.
I don't profess to have the answer to ' Life, the universe and everything’, although I hear a rumor it is "42".
Biography
I was trained at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating in 1966.
Since then I have been a park ranger, TV production stage manager, set designer, videographer, photographer, graphic designer, set designer, webmaster and lots of more boring occupations. Recently I found the critical mass of computer capabilities to give me a powerful voice that eclipsed my efforts with acrylics and oils.
