Serge Gauya

Biography

Serge Gauya, whose real name is Serge Gauye, is a Swiss artist who from a young age has always been attracted to the arts, especially music and painting. During his childhood and adolescence, he attended music theory and piano classes at the Conservatory of Sion (Switzerland) as well as courses in drawing and painting at a school in his hometown.

His artistic career really began at age 15 when he released his first single in Paris (France), that were followed by several albums sung in different languages that have led him to travel the world. His albums in Spanish began encountering success in 2006 in Latin America, specifically in Ecuador and among Hispanics living in the United States. In recognition of his work, he has won various awards such as the "Premio Estrella Music Awards" in Miami in 2008 and the Fox Music USA Latin Awards in 2014 in Houston USA.

His influence in the arts- whether in his music and his paintings- is also enriched by his experience, his training (Serge studied natural medicine in Geneva and Paris) and his extensive travels around the world during which he is imbued with colors, sounds, people and atmosphere.

Throughout his musical career Serge always felt the need to paint and draw what brings him continuity in his way of expressing his inner feelings. He said that like his music, his painting is an energy and a vibration that he tries to give off to his public and get them to enter his art.

In recent years, Serge's work has been exhibited in several shows around the world including the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Among others, he represented Swiss contemporary art in Kuwait at the "Kuwait Arts Association" during the "Swiss Contemporary Art 2012" and in 2015 exhibiting his works at the French Alliance of AsunciĆ³n (Paraguay) during Francophone week in partnership with the Swiss Embassy and the French Alliance.

His current work in acrylic consists of two series (Abstract and Figurative) which are complementary and very colorful. Created during the same period of his life, they will give the viewer the opportunity to take a trip to the particular universe of this atypical artist
