Biography
Anna Maria was born in Jersey City across from "The Twin Towers" of New York City, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She became committed to the development of her talent at a young age. As a child Anna Maria would spend hours in her room drawing. Being from the Metropolitan Area, she spent most of her childhood surrounded by Museums, Theaters and Classical Architecture. As a young girl she would frequently travel into Manhattan to attend various Art shows and Museum Exhibitions. She began displaying her work while still in college.
Through course of her studies in Art History, she became particularly drawn to a style of painting which she had acquired from the most famous Artist of the Impressionist age, Monet. Her work has been displayed on both Coasts’. She particularly loves to work with oils and acrylics, mixed media to add a Three Dimensional quality to her work. Her paintings captures the viewers' imagination to look beyond reality. Anna Maria’s work is best described, as a mystical display of dimension and texture, painted across the canvas in an array of dreamy colors. Her interpretation guides you into her dream world. She is a perfectionist driven by the passion to portray beauty through her paintings.
Artist Statement
"I am inspired to Paint, in order to recapture the fundamentals of the Natural world, and the Universe. The Constant changes, of the Forces of Nature are influential in assisting me to re-creating a variety Oil Paintings, with an emphasis on contrast, proportion and pattern. The Oil Paint Colors selected are used to reflect my Emotions towards the Subject as well as the mood of the scene. The painting is then illuminated by an array of Raw materials, and embellishments which are adhered to the Canvas, to create Movement, Rhythm, and a three dimensional effect. My Work reflects a connection between the Unity, Harmony and Balance of the Universe. My Artist Mission, is to express my vision and persevere in changing the focus of “Conventional” views of the world, through ideas are turned into Art."
