Alma Guerrero was born in 1964 in Veracruz; Mexico. She grew up in an artistic family, surrounded by musicians, actors, painters, writers, dancers. Her mother was a writer and her father was a painter. Alma Guerrero is mostly self-taught, but she has taken art courses.
Alma´s work has been exhibited in local galleries in her town.
Her vernacular art represents people who work the land, as well they play traditional music, called “son jarocho”. Her paintings evoques the character and soul of the region, where she was born. Alma has worked in art education for children and young people. But she works mostly full time painting, and as a freelancer visual artist.
