Artist’s statement
My art work is my way of expressing emotions, feelings, and even beliefs that I cannot otherwise express. Art always succeeds when alternate forms of utterance can sometimes fall short. When I am unable to speak my feelings through blunt words or predictable actions, I take my brush to recreate my innermost self on a glistening paper or a majestic canvas. I compel myself to create feelings that scratch the walls of my being in an attempt to escape into the world. One great pleasure I derive from my art is the wide variety of emotions I inspire. I strive that every person viewing my art will find something that speaks to them. Upon looking closely at my painting, I begin to realize that I am no longer seeing colors splattered upon a surface, but seeing a part of myself. I truly hope that my creations can inspire others to do the same using my art as a passage to look deeper inside their own hearts.
