Vanessa Nahoul

VANESSA NAHOUL SERIO

Of Lebanese origin, Vanessa Nahoul Serio is a Mexican born artist who seeks to convey through her drawings and paintings of the human figure, the expressiveness of the human spirit. She conceives art as a necessity and a way of knowing what being human really means to its best extent. The ability to make art and to enjoy it reflects the human capability of transformation and the possibility of expressing different forms of harmony and of beauty not only inspired by the world outside but also from within.

Art is the pause one can take from the violent and difficult world we live in, to reorganize the chaos and achieve the needed transformation into better persons.

Through a work of art we can establish an expressive dialogue with someone else. Art speaks of the other, the creator, but also tells us about ourselves, what we carry in our minds and in our hearts. Art seeks the permanence, the durability that life itself doesn´t have.

Vanessa Nahoul Serio has a 24 year experience in drawing and painting since she started her academic studies in art, composition, drawing and art materials, in Mexico City. Author of several drawing and painting series: “Insight”, “Chromatic Places”, “Emigrants of the Gaze”, “Dream Passages”, “Dreams and Reminiscences in Paradise” and “Sacred places of the Heart”, among others. She also has a postgraduate degree and a PhD in Psychoanalytic Psychology which has nourished her work and her understanding of the human expressions. Her work has been published in different books specialized in art, she´s exhibited her work in at least 11 solo shows and she´s participated in many group shows both in Mexico and in Florence, Italy, New York, Miami, Chicago, Buenos Aires, Paris and Las Vegas.
