Luckily I was born in the colorful and exotic city of Casablanca, Morocco, in the middle of August, outside the window you could see the Atlantic ocean, deep ultramarine cobalt and royal Blue a clear sky, and that is certainly what influences me in my Art. Since my early days I would walk through the streets in the Old city and there my eyes were gifted with the many colors of the flower and spice markets, in the next quarter the fabric dyers were tinting the yarns which they will be weaving into those exquisite carpets known throughout the world as Moroccan and Berber.
Some other days I stood for hours studying the brass copper and silversmiths master craftsmen sitting on a makeshift stool. I truly believe in my heart that I am fortunate to have learnt all these techniques which have been handed down for thousands of years. My early twenties is the city of Art-Paris-the awakening to the masters of the visual arts the big ones Miro, Monet, Manet, Picasso, Braque, Leger..Matisse, and Gauguin and Dali but especially Yves Klein for his concepts and unique color, le Bleu de Klein I think the real catalyst was the movement Dada among them Marcel Duchamps, Picabia, Giorgio de Chirico a great Artist
when I discovered it my life took a big turn and when I grasped the meaning of the influence it had on the whole concept of what is Art today, more visions were born.
Mid twenties is New York where I discovered Pop Art - Andy Wharhol whom I met at many occasions, must mention Rosenquist and Raushenberg inspired me the same way Dali and Man Ray did in Paris, later I worked in Los Angeles a while and moved to Miami in the eighties, Latin American
Art Thomas Sanchez, Perez Cellis, Matta, again the blue ocean always next to me. Although the theme is important what primes my Paintings is color composition, geometry and symmetry. Love in all its aspects is my main subject, the Universal love in Colors, their Harmony and the coherent complementary of them.
