Biography Inspired by the palette of my homeland, Australia, with its vivid clear blue skies, ochre deserts, vivid green rainforests and azure blue oceans, one has no shortage of subject matter. I have widely traveled and lived in these areas, but the east coast of Australia and the Great Barrier Reef seem to inspire me the most. I commenced painting whilst recovering from a serious illness in 2001 and although mainly self taught, my works have changed and evolved over the years. Works have been hung in various hotels, surf clubs, and many small businesses throughout Queensland. Teaching, holding workshops and numerous commissions, and sales to collectors globally, keep me totally engrossed and occupied. Artist Statement "I love to push the boundaries using colour as my driving force and approach a blank canvas with anticipation and excitement...
Softly playing classical soothing music, the process of creation takes me on an unplanned journey into the depths of my soul...
I splash and pour colored acrylic inks on a sometimes textured canvas, manipulating its direction until an idea appears before me. Once dry, I liberally apply acrylic paint and charcoal and a few well chosen brush strokes to complete another unique painting... I have produced works in various subjects over the years, but I am constantly inspired by the Great Barrier Reef and use my imagination to depict images of coral, fish and other wonders of this great wonder of the world."
