Biography
Astrid Jacobs graduated from the Art Academy in Hamburg, Germany. She worked for five years at the publishing house Gruner & Jahr, Hamburg, Germany and afterwards as an art director at the Andresen Company and for many different publishing houses and advertising agencies.
She undertook many study trips to Europe, Asia and the USA. In 1993 she moved to New York, USA, where she worked at the Barrett-House Art Gallery and School of Arts. Since 1998 she has her own studio in Munich, Germany, as a freelance artist.
Artist Statement
"I've always loved art, music and dance. When I capture joyful and moving moments of life in my pictures, I mix the shining colors for my art according to these moments, since for me there is a parallel between the harmony of colors and harmony of musical intervals. Both have the power to stir strong feelings in us. Both color and music sweep the dust from our soul and make us come alive."
