Artist : Huger Guillaume
Born on March 14th, 1981 near Paris. At a very early stage of my life, I already practiced drawing and painting. Through the years, what first was a need for creativity then became an art de vivre. As a teen, I mostly worked on graffiti and stencils; the growth and success of street art showed me how important it is to believe in what you do and pursue it.
After studying design, typography and graphic arts, I was working in advertising. I had to create a lot, fast, endlessly, most of time with no other result than one more meeting. What drives me is the creative process to reach my initial vision, using something meaningless to make it powerful, for me this is art. There’s something unconventional and somehow unexpected that I really like about these children stickers I use. One day, as I was meeting with a gallery owner, she said “What do you do?” / Me: “child stickers” / She looked at me: “No, I mean, seriously, what do you do?”...
For the pleasure of the people who watch my art, and will first see it as a figurative whole, then letting their eyes walk down the stickers. From a star to a rectangle, from a circle to a square, offering them a route back and forth between abstract and figurative art. This how I want my art to be: original and authentic, a Xxxi century impressionism mixing street and pop art.
Introducing the D.N. Art collection: a series of unique art pieces realized since 2010. I use child colored stickers like pixels or cells, to form a figurative whole and give life to images. Simplicity of colors and shapes VS complexity of the creative process and the final pieces of art. Abstract geometrical shapes of the child stickers VS amazing figurative result of this art.
