Artist Statement:
Simply put, my work is a mix of Rock and Roll meets Sleeping Beauty.
When describing my art, there isn’t just one word or adjective used to differentiate my style. It is a combination of feelings and elements and layers that I infuse to create more depth and dimensions to all of my pieces; therefore, my works of art can best be described as an artistic movement. This movement is known as Fãsh Art; which means Forward Thinking Art. Fãsh Art has become my personal, artistic mark -- very Bold, Sexy, Inventive and Glamorous. By encompassing all of the show stopping qualities of present day glitz and glamor with traditional subtleties, Fãsh Art introduces a new artistic trend. The colors I incorporate into my pieces are daring and the mixture of finishes are inspiring-- the crystals are brilliant, the mirrors are self indulging, and the combination of glass and glitter are mesmerizing. In my line of work, I use only the best materials for my clients; ranging from imported oils from the Netherlands, to glass and glitter from Germany. The risque qualities of my style of work are what provokes attention, but it is the final product that I create which entices art lovers to want more. Biography:
Kimia Arya is a Los Angeles based Fine Artist, specializing in Acrylic, Oil and Mixed Media Paintings. She has been drawing and painting since a very young age and has continued to pursue her passion by creating an artistic movement, known as Fãsh Art. Kimia mastered her craft at the accredited Joan & Martin Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts at the notable York University in Toronto, Canada, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors, majoring in Visual Arts. From there, she spent almost 8 years in Investment Banking, while continuing to pursue her dedicated devotion to creating her art. Kimia’s artworks have been featured in numerous exhibitions, gallery shows and print ads in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands. Most notably, her well-known piece, The Power of Moi, was selected and mounted on a billboard in Times Square, New York, on Monday, June 18th, 2012, for the live event of ‘Art Takes Times Square’. This same piece was then featured and printed in the event’s best selling book. Kimia has also had the profound opportunity to collaborate with Interior Designers and Consultants in Toronto, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam to display her artworks in various hotels and fine establishments, as well as commercial and residential properties. Kimia’s passion and devotion for creating distinct pieces of art is shown in each of her artistic creations. Not only does she create unique pieces, but she also works with her clients to create new, exciting pieces that are tailored to their individual needs. Kimia has created the Fãsh Art movement, which alludes to her trend of forward thinking art. Her artworks are Fresh, Inventive, Sexy, Stylish, Risqué, and, above all, unique.
