Artist Statement

My name is Glenda Hecksher. I am Mexican.
I represent in my sculptures either beautiful things such as maternal love, love and eroticism, respect for our environment; or, as I believe artists must be aware and concerned about the world they live in, I have made a wide series of sculptures about war and peace. One sculpture of mine was adopted as the symbol of the Peace Messenger Cities Association.

One of my talents is making portraits. I also have made a series with a mixture of Pre Columbian and Occidental elements. I develop commissions and other kind of ideas in bronze, silver, gold, resin, glass, ceramic; marbles, granites, onyxes, quartzes and fiber glass. Their dimensions vary from miniatures, to several meters high. I also do trophies tokens and awards.

My creative activity has given me the opportunity to meet presidents, governors and politicians of my country, as well as first level artists, writers, musicians and all kind of interesting and sensitive people around the world.

I am invited frequently in Mexico and abroad to give lectures and present exhibitions in universities, museums, colleges or different forums and venues. I like to work with altruist and interesting movements. And I have been fortunate to receive awards for doing what I like the most.

I am glad now to be part of Art Fusion Galleries.
