Gabriel Medina

I was born in Uruguay, a small country in South America with a population of three million inhabitants. I remember I liked to do many things when I was a kid but I developed a flair for drawing.
Although in a certain way I was related to art for being the son of a plastic artist, and also have worked with him since I was twenty it was at the age of thirty I decided to paint for myself for a living.

From that moment until now what motivates me is trying to understand a little more the aesthetic of things, why some lines, shapes, lights and shadows captivates us, which makes me experiment with different themes and techniques. In this particular moment I am working with human figures in black and white.
