ABOUT XIMENA ETCHART
Award-winning photographer Ximena Etchart was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1981. She studied for several years photography in different, both national and international schools.
Ximena started in 2008 working as a photographer for advertising agencies such as BBDO, Madre Buenos Aires and Ogilvy & Mather Argentina. But after a few years working in the advertising field, in 2010, she went after her passion to capture the extraordinary beauty of the world and people that surrounded her and became enthusiastic with the feeling of becoming a documentary photographer.
This gave her the opportunity to start working for several Magazines and Newspapers from Argentina and around the world, and even got the chance to start working as a Freelance Photographer for Getty Images Latin America. Ximena's work has been successful in various photographic competitions including International Photography Awards in New York with a 3rd Prize for her “Pure Blood” Series, and an Honorable Mention for her “Storms” Series. She was recently shortlisted at Sony World Photography Awards in London as one of the Top Ten Photographers in the Landscape Category where her series has been chosen from 54,053 images entered from 171 countries.
ABOUT "STORMS" SERIES
In the desert of Nevada, windstorms blur the lines, confuse forms and generate road-less spaces. This is how people are discovered, moving aimlessly to escape the loneliness, the timelessness of not knowing where they are going or where they came from. This causes some concern and intrigue, which is in some way how we all live today.
