My family emigrated from Columbia . I was born in the Midwest in the state of Illinois and my formative years were spent upstate New York - in the picturesque Mohawk Valley. My earliest creative efforts that can be recalled are doodling trees with a pencil in grammar school at 7. I enjoyed representing the branches and leaves , sketching the roots ... equal to and mirroring the upper portion of the trees. this would become my first reoccurring doodle. my family and I enjoyed the four seasons of the year , but spring stands out in my memories ……. sunlight..flowering leaves..brilliant colors ….bright blue skies and a sense of optimism and rebirth.
