The “Son of the Moon” was born in northern Mexico. The beginning of his climbing professional career was during his early childhood when he drew for the first time with his father.
As a young and passionate teenager, he entered the LA SALLE College where he was experienced the different facets of the design field. While he was a student in college he met his mentor, Mrs. Marcela Lopez, and with her guidance he achieved several projects in various techniques of the plastic-arts such as: acrylic, charcoal, glass art (vitroux), engraving, textile-design and photography. He graduated from there with a degree in graphic design.
The artist spent the next few years traveling extensively. Travel gave him the unique opportunity to discover new cultures, observe the smallest of details, and expand his imagination -- in essence to create the right composition in every project.
Soon after arriving to the United States, his creativity flourished even more. He led different marketing campaigns for a prestigious tequila brand and introduced a professional and full-color newspaper to the Hispanic community within Atlanta.
As an independent artist, his work surpasses the borders of graphic arts. He has produced his own line of clothing, created souvenirs for his native city, designed furniture and hand-crafted occasion cards. His talent, his perseverance, his vision made him a truly multifaceted artist.
The “Son of the Moon” has consistently demonstrated a true passion for Art. Precise concepts of design and the appeal to the senses are apparent in every work. Exquisite details highlight his compositions.
In his native Mexico, he was awarded several prizes for the design of publicity campaigns, billboard design and photography.
In the U.S. he has featured his work at different venues such as: The Atlanta City Hall, The Silva Gallery, The Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art, The Atlanta History Center, crossing over to set new opportunities for Latino artists in cultural spaces within Atlanta.
Biography part II
The Son of the Moon" introduces his new collection titled “Emparejado con la Luna” (Matching up with the Moon). In Spanish the name denotes two different ideas: "matching up" and “couples”. Theses two elements are evident in this production as a tribute to love in all its forms, without regard to age, race or sexual orientation. Diverse love images are depicted in scenes with couples underneath the soft and mesmerizing moonlight.
"The Son of the Moon" highlights the imagery of body language and gestures to express feelings and emotions; from the erotic through fantasy to the sublime. The artist uses noticeable hand expressions in which the images are pointing upward and trying to reach high above into infinity.
A special luminous effect is achieved through the use of shades of red, black and white. These effects are a trademark of his work.
“Emparejado con la Luna” is a reflection of sensibility and passion for intrinsic creativity. The artist draws any viewer’s attention with each of the pieces in this series.
