Hermes Perez
I was born in march 11 of 1986 in Pinar del Rio-Cuba and lived there until I was 10 years old. Then I moved to Ciudad Havana-Cuba, a city that I love. Some people find it ugly and full guilt, but I find in it a beautiful city full of life.
My father is an architect and I always felt inspired by his drawings. I always felt the necessity of getting a pencil and make a mark in any surface, then with time I started using my father’s color pencils and markers in paper, I usually draw cars, motorcycles and eventually I grew up and started to draw and paint more serious themes. Later in Havana I mature and got more into art life meeting artist friends, studying in some art schools and going to art shows.
In 2005 I came to the United States of America. That changed my live and definitely my ideas, my colors, my art.
I’m looking forward to keep maturing and gaining new experiences in the art world. No matter what I will keep doing art, because I love it, because It makes me feel alive, but most of all, because I need it.
