Monica Brenner

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I am an architect but my passion is art. Since I can remember I have been playing with papers, brushes, and colors. I enjoy using all kind of materials that help me in the creative process.

My work is directly the expression of my feelings, my mood.
When I paint I can feel completely happy and free. I have no rules. In my opinion the most important thing in Art is what you transmit. When the observant is looking at my paintings and remembers something, this can be any kind of emotion; I can then say that the job is done. That is my intention.

I like to use primary colors, usually acrylics. I mix them and create new colors of my own, I like strident colors too.
Sometimes I have the necessity to add some textures, objects, or even cut a part of a painting and add it to a new one; consequently I am able to express something stronger with the help of these elements. This is how my collages are born.

I also think that my paintings can be considered naïf. Some of them contain sense of humor, and I find that my paintings can be understood by anyone, no matter how old they are.

I appreciate the knowledge and enthusiasm that was transmitted to me by the following people:

Teacher painter Luisa Reisner, studio “ El duende”, Argentina

Teacher painter Barbara Benezra,Broward, Florida.

For the end:

I participated in various collectives exhibitions in Argentina, but I consider that my real biographie, my legacy, are my paintings.
