Rosario Ostría, a Bolivian artistic painter, was born in La Paz on October 3, 1960. She obtained her bachelor´s degree in the career of Plastic Arts in the University of San Andres. The experience acquired working at Roberto Valcárcels and Raúl and Gustavo Lara´s studios as well as the engraving course taught by Marta French complement her artistic education. Rosario has an exquisite acrylic technique and an exalted color sensitivity. She creates an entirely personal and unsophisticated painting inspired in the archangels of the South American viceroyalty with figures that do not strip off their celestial clothes but are absorbed into sweet worldly faces loaded of mystery and charm. She is also inspired by the exuberant and varied Latín-American nature, characterized by its expressions brimming over with life and color.
