Maximus Blanc started as a project in a basement on February 2005 by Alejandro Cabrera de la Mora.
Born on July the 16th, 1983 in Mexico City, Alejandro began drawing by himself at the age of 4. He acquired his first coloring skills from his uncle, graphic designer Jorge de la Mora.
Although his toys were mostly Lego's and drawing supplies, his dream was to be an architect or an industrial designer. Alejandro used to build and draw houses for fun and instead of doing his homework; he dedicated most of his time to building clay models such as cars, airplanes and houses.
He was always creating in his mind designs of everything he liked and eventually would develop them in art. Alejandro is currently studying Industrial Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco California.
Maximus Blanc started with the purpose of creating an artist, a theme and a name. The entire idea of this project was to exhibit artwork generated by feelings, expressing the significance of those moments that will never come back.
His artwork clearly captures his passion for music. He realized that "frustration becomes one's inspiration". Although he listened to Antonio Vivaldi while being in his mother's womb, having two musician relatives on his mother's and father's side and being the son of a great composer, he could not have anything more than love and a profound appreciation towards it.
Alejandro never thought of becoming an artist. As a matter of fact he still does not consider himself one. "For artists, God" - he says. Although he likes to think of himself as a creative person, he was not very fond of making efforts to exhibit his work.
He started giving out his art as gifts.
Even though it never crossed his mind that people would like his work, his thoughts proved him wrong. He had sold over 42 pieces in less than one year, having displayed his original artwork in only two small art shows, which had a large amount of restrictions and were not aimed towards the right market.
This talented artist created Maximus Blanc to share dreams and moments, to express happiness and sadness, to provide harmony and the opportunity to enhance surroundings.
