Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico in 1979. Today, she resides in the town of Isabela and is a Professor in the Department of Education at the University of Puerto Rico, Arecibo campus.
Her interest in art began at an early age, and was inspired by art competitions. She later completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus, obtaining a Bachelor in Education and her graduate studies at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, obtaining a Master in Fine Arts (MFA). She has participated in collective and individual expositions in Museums and Galleries in Puerto Rico. Her last individual exposition, titled “Visiones,” featured sixteen acrylic-on-canvas paintings.
The paintings were created using a technique of applying the paint using only her hands. The visual language portrayed in her work is based on Caribbean landscapes with a predominant use of forms in motion and a brilliant pallet.
The forms appear in more subjective ways in some of the pieces, while in others, they become elements of nature or mystic aspects. However, all of the pieces are an idealization of natural forces.
The works appearing on this page are titled “Aurora en el litoral” and “La luz inalcanzable.”
