ARTIST'S STATEMENT
This is not a prescription for all artists, but a description of the art of becoming.... A way of traveling from the present into the future.
As an artist, I try to inspire the observer to keep in mind that each day is not only a journey exploring unknown visual delights but should include seeing in a fresh way the familiar. To know it in a different light, from another angle offering new promise and joy.
Professionally, for a long time, I created eye catching window displays. I would imagine a set design, build it, install it, and within weeks tear it down, then, envision another and repeat the process again and again. The main function of "display" is to attract attention.
Change is in itself fascinating. I became a master adhocist and innovator (tackling problems at once using the materials at hand). My art works were that of construction sculpture. I did not carve or mold from a single piece, I would begin with shapes and forms, build upon them, and rebuild again reaching into space and time.
Today, I am still a constructionist and concentrate in the field of optic/kinetics. I call myself a "Kaleidovisionist" I alter space creating energy and beautiful forms to remind people that our best guides in a journey toward the unknown are individual imagination, individual creativity, and innovativeness.
