Jackie Sleper studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Utrecht. She made trips to Ireland, Spain, Prague, China, Mexico and India. Abroad she exhibited in several cities such as Antwerp (Art-Event), Basel (Art Basel), Stockholm (Art Fair), Marbella (Marb Art – Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo), Geneva (Europ’Art), Klagenfurt (Biennale Austria), Salzburg (Mozart Festival), Florence (Museo Diocesano and Biennale Internazionale dell’Arte Contemporanea), Milan (Studio D’Ars), New York (Carrozzini Von Buhler Gallery and CVB Space), several museums in Mexico, India and China (Shanghi Art Museum).
A 5-page article in Sculpture Magazine: ‘In Search of Universal Dialogue: A conversation with Sculptor Jackie Sleper’ by art critic Edward Rubin. In 2007, Sleper won first prize in the Sculptures and Installations category at the Biennale Internazionale dell’arte contemporanea di Firenze (for entire body of work). And one of her sculptures, “Modestia,” was exhibited at the Venice Biennale, at Open 2007.
In her homeland the Netherlands, she has made, among other things, a tile plaque in honor of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, commissioned by the municipality of Utrecht, “light objects” for the design hotel Kruisherenhotel in Maastricht, which opened in 2005, and her work has been shown in Amsterdam (KunstRai, PAN), Rotterdam (Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and Galerie Animaux/Christiaan Ouwens), Zutphen (Stedelijk Museum and Museum Henriette Polak), Utrecht (Daatselaar & Godhelp Antique Dealers and Galerie Quintessens) and Maastricht (Tefaf).
