The building blocks that led to the establishment of Renae’s art business, Balancing Art, is her lifelong discovery of her gifts and talents to create extraordinary works of art. Her first memorable artistic discovery began in the sixth grade. It was a school art contest, where she won a blue ribbon for a charcoal drawing of a stick figure person playing a cello. Not only did she win a blue ribbon, but the organizer of the school event asked if she could keep her art piece. By participating in this event, she realized her art work had value and meaning to others. That drawing was saved by her mother and is now the logo you see for her art business. Since retiring in 2009 from a career in Child Abuse and Neglect Services in Denver, Colorado, Renae has merged - a career in providing therapeutic services for family/children within their home environment, her passion for visual arts, interior/exterior design and the close observation of art pieces found in museums and art galleries throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean - to focus on a career of creating mix medium artwork. She describes her artwork composition as a “Balancing Act”. Balancing color, size, shapes, texture and scale with consideration given to the psychology of color; how color impacts mood; how art impacts one’s environment and the effects of lighting. All coming together to create contemporary works of art that reflect Balance. Renae relocated from her home town in the Rocky Mountains of Denver, Colorado to Atlanta, Georgia the Peach State in 2009. |
