Kazimierz Kalkowski was born in Gdansk, Poland and currently lives in Gdynia. His work includes painting, drawing, large stained glass installations and wall compositions, and sculptures (porcelain). He has exhibited around the world, including Poland, Belgium, Germany, Turkey, Luxembourg, and currently in the US at William Braemer Fine Art Gallery.
In Kalkowski's works, the art of detail refinement is amazing. His unique works, striking a multitude of details, present a deformed, grotesque, surreal reality, and the iconographic richness of each sculpture allows one to interpret its meaning in many different ways.
It is impossible to walk through an exhibition of Kazimierz Kalkowski without existential questions. A volcano of emotions where Eros and Thanatos swirl in a sensual dance. Everybody will come out of the Kalkowski's exhibition richer for a deep experience .
