Painting Technique
The paintings of Maitreya are made with oil colors on specially prepared canvases. The technique varies from so called "dry brush" (inherited from his teacher - Vasily Sitnikov) to the unique, having no analogs, his own technique with filigree surface working-through (made by a needle), which creates an illusion of "Not-Made-By-Hands" and fantastic luminescence effect. Such paintings are multilayered and labor-consuming, therefore some of them (middle-sized) took him up to 6 months for doing.
