Gavin Yates was born in the USA in 1960. Yates has been a painter and a carpenter for the majority of his life. When Yates describes what an artists statement should look like he says “If one’s life were to be recounted by someone else, than his life would be one that could capture the uniqueness of the beautifully abstract. This would be recognized through seamless strength that would encompass beauty throughout.” Yates explains his art in such way, because he feels that by merging paint and adding and subtracting color one can find an ultimately pleasing blend of hues, which we can then define as the beauty of art. |
