Artist Statement

"My red nude collection is provocative and subtle at the same time. It’s my personal exploration of the sensual form of the human body. Throughout this journey I discovered my own sensuality and full acceptance of my body: how graceful the light appears when it hits the torso and shapes a curve, the beauty of the natural weight of a breast, the fascinating volume of a muscular arm, how elegant body parts are from head to toe.
My process begins with each tare of the newspaper deconstructing current events to create my figures in their newly found world of sensuality and passion. It is my meditative approach to rip the paper and paste onto the canvas. Addressing nudes with irony, such a restricted theme in Haiti, portrays my humorous personality. I invite you on a journey through this collection mainly to feel your sensuality without boundaries and celebrate your imperfect body...

My artwork is extremely diverse with bright colors and high contrast. My subjects come directly from Haiti where nudity is a taboo, and the luxuriant vegetation is disappearing. These are the roots of my obsessions; Flowers and nudes."
