Lila states, “This way or another, each of us puts on a mask; it's a kind of fine tuning to the world outside, a tinge which equalizes internal sensations with surrounding common reality. As a photographer, I was always aimed at pulling the present essence out from the person, the primitive form of perception, pure and unweighted by imposed problems. I tried a lot of different things, including underwater portraits with weightless sensation and porcelain masks took in trans, conveying a sense of soul impression. But finally I found that the secret is only one. To fall in love with the person I am shooting right now. And magically, camera will catch it, I still don’t know how it happens.”
After a lot of experience with creating stories with pictures Lila found herself in directing her own films. For now she continues to tell stories with different instruments, including photography, filming, sculpture, fabric sculpture, dolls and underwater photography. Lila is a current member of the Russian Art Union. Most of her art works can be seen on website www.lilena.ru.
