Artist Statement/Biography
This discovery is called Perspectivism. Perspectivism is a new trend, philosophical thought applied to a vision encompassing scientific iconography.
As a theoretical physicist, Dr. Jacobson envisions string theory. His recent paintings reflect a vision of string theory, the hottest topic in modern physics. It speaks to the unification and communication between all things in the universe; large and small, near and distant. His dedication to oil painting was enhanced by his search for the unified field equation, earnestly trying to visually represent the infinite number of dimensions comprising the world we see and the world we don't see.
Dr. Jacobson paints with the passion of Van Gogh, the skill of Caravaggio, the division of Michelangelo and the creativity of Picasso. His life's work include more than 800 oil paintings, thousands of drawings, hundreds of water colors, pastels and numerous inks. He has exhibited his paintings throughout the world for nearly 45 years. Having numerous one-man exhibitions in NYC both in galleries and museums. His paintings appear in numerous collections of celebrities. As a world class medical researcher, he has incorporated medical images in his paintings with meaningful philosophical import.
Everything seen must conform to the truth of universal order, balance and harmony. All things in the universe are always in motion. So too must your images be moving, yet the scene is captured in time. In a fleeting second of purview, one captures the motion of things, all moving relatively with one another; creating a plastic form of geometricity, the center of which is located at the golden point; off the center of the canvas plane, it is that point of tension that engenders the passionate harmony of balance and form.
Dr, Jacobson considers himself an artist, and a philosopher of truth. His creativity knows no boundaries.
