Biography
Christian Guerin, French, born in 1953, was brought up in France by his grandmother Berthe Cammeo who was an artist recognized by the Beaux Arts in the 20th century. He now lives in Weston, Florida. He has always lived in this artistic climate. In the Cote d`azur there are many famous Museums with artists such as Matisse and Chagall and Fondation Maeght. Living in Saint Paul de Vence for a long time , a quaint village in the south- east of France, well known all around the world as an artistic village, where famous artists love to meet. Christian loves to assemble, cut up, paste and paint to produce spectacular lines which people either adore or are shocked by.
Christian does not consider himself as an artist, but as someone who assembles art, a compositor, this alchemist of modern times plays with a discreet humour to paint unusual paintings and he adds 3D resin sculptures, which most often represent a woman or a man in the process of painting the painting, something never seen where the only limit is his creative imagination. Due to the fact that the resin sculptures were quite fragile, since 2011 the new sculptures are women, men and children, made in bronze, on a ladder always with the paintbrush or the roller in their hand.
Bright colors, he mixes oil paint and acrylic paint, he uses resin to give volume, framed ou unframed, his Works are loved by clients looking for something unique. Even if you are just curious, your look shall stop a few moments to contemplate these compositions.
Permanently looking for design, futuriste, thanks to the help of several artists, and coming from sketches, he made a collection of functional sculptures as he likes to call them, tables, chairs, stools where the enlightened amateur finds his happiness.
This enlightened artist has been assembling hundreds of objects of different textures for 30 years; metal, bronze, porcelaine, plastic, in a race to the four corners of the world. Christian meets talented or unknown artists and together they create unusual Works depending on the inspiration of the moment .
Insolite a souhait, he paints Marilyn’s face on bubble wrap, an amazing result. Sculpture or welding, in 2004 he dared to marry recycled parts from a car, a truck, or a motorbike. Recycled metallic parts saved from destruction after 300 hours of work for the pleasure of the creator and his spectators through table bases, chairs and arm chairs. All these créations, paintings, sculptures, assemblages have only been put up for sale since a few years, he exhibits in the USA and in France.
