The Art of Richard Chesler
Richard Chesler, Internationally recognized artist creates beautifully visual as well as entertaining images. His perfectionism brings a tactile sensitivity to detail in each of his life size works in oil on canvas.
Richard’s career spans over 40 years as an award wining designer, painter and educator. His professional training started In New York City, then he went on to graduate with honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena Ca. Richard also studied at the Art Students League in NYC. For nearly a decade Richard taught at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design. He was a regular contributor to HOW Magazine and his his “Jewels in the Pond” have been featured in Koi USA Magazine, “Tattoo Fantasies” in The Collector’s Edition of Tattoo Magazine and International Tattoo Magazine.
Richard’s paintings have exhibited in galleries in NYC SoHo, Japan, Amsterdam, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Telluride Co. and The St Louis Artist Guild. His art has been used for book jackets, calendars, art posters, clothing and tattoos.
Artistic Statement
"My Japanese style has guided my art for many years, this vibrant subject matter gives me the opportunity to visualize from deep with in my imagination creating the Tattoo series, Koi series and Carousel series the impact is subliminal the result surreal. My newest series “Bodies” comes from my appreciation for simplicity of line and love of color."
